The Garden, Early October

I meant to be more consistent with posting here, and I meant to talk more about the garden. Ah well. It's really my first year growing food in the yard, and  have 2 raised beds that are 3 feet x 5 feet, and multiple barrels, and a 4 foot by 10 foot by about 11 foot tall greenhouse (part of our shed.)

It's early October in Newfoundland, not known to be very sunny or warm. And Hurricane Igor wreaked his wrath some weeks ago so everything looks ragged. None the less:

Cucumber plant in bucket in greenhouse.

Tomato plants at least 7 feet tall!

Yellow Cherry Tomatoes - they taste like candy!

Bag O'Basil

It's October and my lone Eggplant is flowering.

Pepperoncini peppers are finally turning red...growing in a hanging basket in greenhouse.

One raised bed, outside greenhouse.

Calendula - the petals are good in salad, or dried in tea.

The other raised bed with ratty Igor-beaten beans and broccoli.

My other few barrels and boxes...
